Overview of Recall Provisions
Kansas: conviction for a felony, misconduct in office, incompetence, or failure to perform duties prescribed by law. No recall submitted to the voters shall be held void because of the insufficiency of the grounds, application, or petition by which the submission was procured. (KS Stat. §25-4301)
Who can be recalled? - All but judicial officers
Signature Requirement - 40% of the votes cast in the last election for the official being recalled
Circulation Time - 90 days
The governor appoints a successor who must be a member of the same political party as the officeholder recalled, and must be selected from a list submitted by a committee of the political party of the person recalled.
